Boroughbridge Listeners and Buddies

The Buddy System

Starting in October, we will be running ‘ CHIPS ’ Training for pupils from Years 8, 9 & 10 who would like to help support other pupils.

If you would like to be a Buddy – then speak to Mrs Barnett and get your letter written by Friday ! (that was Friday, 3rd October 2008)

You just need to say why you would like to be involved and why you think you want to be a good Buddy.

The trained ‘Buddies’ will then work alongside our Listeners to continue to keep Boroughbridge

A SAFE and HAPPY School!

The Listener Scheme

The Listener Scheme has been running at our school for nine years – Sixth Form volunteers are trained by Relateen and other agencies to help younger pupils (and older!) in dealing with all sorts of issues.

  • Have you fallen out with your friends?
  • Are you having difficulty making new friends?
  • Are you being bullied?
  • Are you having problems on the bus?
  • Are you having problems organising your work?
  • Are you just feeling down?

We can’t always sort out your problems for you but telling someone can often help you to sort things out!

We are here to help!

We can remember what it’s like to be in Years 7, 8 and 9! – Often a small problem can become really big until you talk to someone about it.

So – if you want to chat to us – just drop a note in the box in the Library or catch one of us in the corridor – you can bring a friend along if you wish!!
