Welcome - A Note from our Headteacher

I am delighted to introduce you to Boroughbridge High School and to try to give you some insight into what makes this school unique. We believe that every individual matters.

High expectations, good supportive relationships and an ethos of opportunity and challenge are the hallmarks of our school. Boroughbridge High School is committed to:

• Giving everyone the opportunity to achieve their potential
• Providing support, care and guidance for each person as a respected individual
• Creating an active partnership with our local community
• Bringing people together to work collaboratively for the benefit of all
• The pursuit of excellence in achievement and provision

We offer high quality learning experiences both inside the classroom and in a wide range of extra-curricular and curricular activities.

We have well-qualified specialist teaching staff in every area.

We have high expectations of all our students.

We expect them to work hard, to take a pride in themselves, their school and their achievements.

We expect them to come prepared for their studies and to attend regularly. We encourage them to take every opportunity, to rise to every challenge and to contribute fully to the life of the school.

The many successes of our students prove that our expectations are more than justified.

I look forward to welcoming you to our school.

Boroughbridge High is an open and welcoming school. I would invite you to visit us and see for yourselves.

Elaine Dixon BA
