Parents Information

Reports and Parents' Evenings
A report on every student’s progress with targets for improvement is published every year and the dates for these are on the school calendar. For each Year group there is also a Parents’ Evening, where individual students’ progress can be discussed in more detail. Student progress is tracked at regular intervals during the year and this will be shared with students and parents through the student planner. Should you wish additional information, please contact the school and speak to the relevant Tutor or Head of Learning.

Parents’ Information Evenings
Being a parent is a tough job! Nobody can be an expert in all areas of life, particularly the life of a teenager. At Boroughbridge High School we try to make that job just a little bit easier by providing information on the whole range of issues affecting young people. There is a programme of events to provide information to parents at relevant times in their child’s school career, for example at the time of choosing courses for study at GCSE or A Level. These are all advertised on the school calendar and you will be notified of events relevant to you and your son/daughter near the event. Other Information Evenings cover areas which many parents are unsure of, such as the health and wellbeing of young people and behaviours around drugs, alcohol and relationships. We will also post information and useful links to other agencies on this page.

The Information Evenings for 2012 – 2013 are:

  • Monday 17 September: Y10 & 11 Parents' Information Evening -' Examinations, Assessment and Coursework' - (6:30pm)
  • Thursday 11 October: Y6 Open Evening (6-9pm)
  • Thursday 7 February: Sixth Form Information Evening (6-9pm)
  • Thursday 14 March: Y9 Options Evening (6-9pm)
  • Tuesday 11 June: Higher Education Information Evening (6:30pm)
  • Monday 8 July: Y6 Parents' Information Evening (6:30pm)

Additionally, we want parents to know that they can feel confident to raise any issue or ask any question, however small, so we have put onto the calendar dates for drop-in sessions. On these days between 4pm and 5:30pm key staff will be available to talk over any matter which you are not sure about or want advice or help on.

Drop-in Sessions for 2012 – 2013 are 4pm – 5:30pm on:

  • Monday 22 October
  • Monday 19 November
  • Wednesday 6 February
  • Wednesday 13 May
